POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Manager oversees all manufacturing operations within an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role is responsible for achieving operational excellence in quality, delivery, and profitability through strong leadership, process discipline, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for production, engineering, materials, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Develop and execute strategies to meet customer requirements, financial goals, and operational targets.
- Drive productivity, yield, and on-time delivery performance across SMT, Through-Hole, and Box Build operations.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, IPC, and customer-specific standards and audits.
- Oversee staffing, training, and talent development to build a high-performing operations team.
- Collaborate with corporate and customer teams on forecasting, capacity planning, and new product introductions (NPI).
- Monitor KPIs including cost, quality, delivery, and inventory turn; implement corrective actions where needed.
- Manage plant budgets, capital expenditures, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to eliminate waste and improve operational flow.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or High School/GED with high level of management in related field; preferred.
- Experience in EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) is a must.
- High level of computer knowledge/experience using Microsoft Windows format to be able to adapt to other programs used for this position
- Strong understanding of SMT assembly, box build, testing, and supply chain operations.
- Proven success in driving Lean manufacturing, quality improvement, and cost efficiency.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems and key performance management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
