Position Title: Systems Architect - Advisory and Technical Services
Location: Washington, District of Columbia (Remote Role)
Contract Type: Part-time Role (500 hours Year)
Company Overview
International Cloud Business Inc is seeking a highly skilled Systems Architect to provide expert advisory and technical services for a federal contract. The successful candidate will assist in evaluating and improving IT systems, providing strategic guidance, and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency, security, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Review and Analysis
- Conduct a thorough review and documentation of existing IT infrastructure, including network topology, server/cloud environments, security controls, and application architecture.
- Identify vulnerabilities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the current systems.
- Deliver a comprehensive Current Systems Review Report that includes diagrams, annotations, and preliminary recommendations.
Advisory Services
- Provide advisory and consultative support for IT modernization, cloud migration, network optimization, security compliance, and disaster recovery.
- Participate in planning and strategy sessions to support the client in their technology transformation.
- Prepare technical presentations, updated architecture diagrams, and strategic roadmaps.
Technical Support
- Assist with technical discussions and decision-making processes, offering subject-matter expertise to guide the development and implementation of IT solutions.
- Support the organization with IT strategy planning, modernization efforts, and technology selection.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with other teams and government stakeholders to deliver project milestones.
- Document technical processes, decisions, and recommendations clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Risk and Security Management
- Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies and frameworks.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to systems, security, and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems engineering, technical advisory, or related fields.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong experience in systems analysis and IT infrastructure.
- Expertise in IT modernization, cloud computing, and network optimization.
- Familiarity with security protocols, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficient in creating technical documentation and delivering presentations.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- TOGAF Certification: TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification is highly beneficial. This certification will assist in ensuring that the IT systems are aligned with best architectural practices, particularly in relation to IT modernization, cloud architecture, and strategic alignment.
- Other relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Cisco, CompTIA Security , or Microsoft certifications) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Federal IT Systems: Familiarity with working in a government contracting environment or with federal agencies is a plus.
- Advanced Skills: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), network architecture, or security compliance is desirable.
