Title: Atlassian Systems Administrator
Client: Department of the Treasury – Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP)
Terms: US Citizens and Green Card Holders (Due to Client requirements); Public Trust or any other clearance is preferred.
Location: Remote but candidate should within DC, MD and VA Area
Terms: Part Time (940 Hours a Year)
Position Overview
- The Atlassian Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration, technical support, and operational oversight of BEP’s Atlassian Jira and Confluence environments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the availability, security, and performance of BEP’s Agile project management toolsets.
- The ideal candidate will manage user access, configure workflows, provide Tier 3 support, and collaborate with both internal stakeholders and Atlassian support teams to maintain reliable and optimized systems across production and test environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and deactivate user accounts in Jira and Confluence.
- Manage user groups, roles, permissions, and product access.
- Configure projects, workflows, dashboards, filters, and reports.
- Act as the primary liaison with Atlassian support and BEP stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to workflows, templates, and integrations.
- Coordinate Tier 3 escalations and system support tickets.
- Monitor and maintain Jira/Confluence systems, including upgrades, patching, and backups.
- Support integrations, third-party apps, and perform database health checks.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and root cause analysis for continuous improvement.
- Assist business users with customizing projects, workflows, and templates.
- Provide training, guidance, and best practice recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization.
- Process and monitor IdAM requests to grant/update user access.
- Ensure compliance with BEP security and access control requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience as an Atlassian Systems Administrator (Jira & Confluence, on-premises and cloud).
- Proven experience managing Atlassian products at enterprise scale.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Kanban frameworks and project management practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and support technical/business users effectively.
- Experience conducting requirements analysis and solution design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
