International Charter School Of Atlanta seeks a qualified and passionate after school program (ASP) Engagement Staff to work with students after school to assist with student homework, and to work with students in enrichment activities such as art, music, team building and STEM. The potential candidate must have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a "fun" yet structured environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
ICSAtlanta ASP operates on school days from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Everyday except Wednesdays 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
The program operates Monday-Friday only.
Scheduling will be a collaborative effort between the ASP Director and the ASP Engagement Staff.
The ASP Engagement Staff position is part-time and hourly with an competitive salary.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide consistent one-on-one support to an assigned kindergarten student during ASP.
- Assist the student with transitions, routines, activities, communication, and social interactions.
- Follow the student’s approved support and safety plan.
- Encourage participation in enrichment activities while promoting independence.
- Observe the student closely and respond appropriately to behavioral, emotional, or sensory needs.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
- Communicate regularly with the ASP Director and appropriate staff regarding the student’s progress and concerns.
- Document and report any incidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, or significant changes.
- Protect the student’s privacy and maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the ASP Director
- Assist in the cleaning and straightening of the room and equipment before, during, and after the program. This includes cleaning tables, chairs, and toys, and locking the building at the end of the day.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
- Fill in as Front Desk Receptionist as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Preferred: College Students with at least 2 semesters completed. All Majors are encouraged to apply.
- Preferred: successful completion of higher education coursework related to education, child development, and/or related field or currently enrolled higher education student.
- Preferred: experience implementing educational programming and working with students as a educational aide, after school care aide, and/or daycare operator or assistant.
- Preferred: background or demonstrated practice in one or more of the following: art, music, elementary tutoring (or working knowledge of elementary academic concepts), team sports, PE, second language tutoring.
- Mandatory: A high sense of professionalism.
- Mandatory: must pass a criminal background check.
- Mandatory: Must be available at least 3 days from 2:00pm - 6:00 pm Mon - Fri
