Position Summary
The Field Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily field operations related to vehicle processing, vessel activity, staffing, and workflow management. This role ensures efficient vehicle movement, timely processing, safe work practices, and high-quality service while supporting operational goals and customer requirements.

Essential Functions
- Communicate with management, customer service teams, and port representatives regarding vessel arrivals, vehicle allocations, special campaigns, and priority orders.
- Plan and schedule staffing levels based on projected workload to ensure operational efficiency, quality standards, and timely completion of assignments.
- Assign and communicate daily work responsibilities to drivers and shipping coordinators and monitor progress throughout the shift.
- Adjust assignments and staffing as operational priorities change.
- Oversee vehicle off-loading operations and ensure vehicles are moved to designated locations according to operational instructions.
- Verify vehicle counts and ensure manifests and related documentation are complete and accurate.
- Keep team members informed of changing priorities, operational updates, and work assignments.
- Coordinate vehicle movements to minimize delays and maximize operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to support smooth processing flow and customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot operational issues involving damaged vehicles or units requiring special handling.
- Train and orient new hires and temporary employees on vehicle handling procedures, safety practices, hazard communication standards, and timekeeping procedures.
- Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and technical support to team members regarding operational procedures and safety expectations.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and corrective action as needed in partnership with management and Human Resources.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring activities as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Attend and participate in management and operational meetings as required.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, strong work performance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain inventory and order operational supplies as needed.
- Promote workplace safety and support accident prevention initiatives.
- Ensure all employees follow established safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Minimum six (6) months of experience in vehicle processing, terminal operations, logistics, or a related operational environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of operational procedures and vehicle handling processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in terminal operations, logistics, automotive processing, transportation, or related operations preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to accurately record and verify 17-character VIN numbers.
- Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Ability to report to work as scheduled and work varying shifts as operational needs require.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work effectively in physically demanding and fast-paced environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including operating vehicles, entering and exiting vehicles frequently, walking, standing, bending, and working outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to step into vehicles and climb approximately 18 inches into elevated vehicle platforms or vans.
- Ability to safely perform duties in active terminal and port environments.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.
- Exposure to moving vehicles, equipment, noise, and other terminal-related conditions.
- Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
