Job purpose
Technical personnel report to the area Supervisor and have the authority and responsibility for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration tasks, operational checks and troubleshooting on aircraft avionics and electrical systems using wiring diagrams, installation/maintenance manuals, test equipment and avionics associated toolingas directed and assigned in accordance with the applicable maintenance data and IAR-TS RSM_QCM
Duties and responsibilities
Troubleshoot, install and repair the following systems:
Communications systems
Navigation systems
FMS/GPS systems
Fuel Quantity and indicating systems
Pitot/Static Systems
Electrical and electrical generating systems, AC/DC, 400 cycle
Read and understand wiring diagrams, and installation drawings
Build/Fabricate wiring harnesses
Work with Air Force TO’s and Lockheed Martin Manuals and other manufactures technical data
ØUnderstand and demonstrate ability to requisition parts and components
Be able to work with avionics connectors and insert/remove pins/sockets
Accomplish basic, general avionics/electrical installations
Operate calibrated avionics test equipment for troubleshooting and operational checks/tests
Carry out assigned tasks, in accordance with the applicable maintenance manual and IAR-TS RSM_QCM.
Ensure maintenance operations are performed in the appropriate sequence (as determined by the applicable maintenance data), that inspections are requested in an orderly and timely manner, and that maintenance activities are performed according to the appropriate maintenance data and customer requirements.
Accomplish all other tasks assigned by the Avionics Technician -Lead or the DOM as required
If certificated under Part 65, employee may supervise maintenance being performed by an uncertificated mechanic working on Part 65 Work Order.
Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years in an avionics position working on transport category or GA aircraft/rotorcraft in an MRO, Airline, Military or an FAA Certified 145 Repair Station environment. Experience on C-130, MD500, AS350, or Bell 206/407 preferred but not mandatory. Airframe License preferred but not mandatory. DOT sensitive position.
Qualifications include:
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
· Possess own basic tools
· Have valid Driver’s License and Passport
· Must read, write and speak English fluently
· Read and understand wiring diagrams
· Work with Manufacturers Technical Manuals
· Basic understanding of electrical theory
