Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Appointment Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Appointment Coordinator will play a vital role in maintaining patient flow and supporting the overall operations of the clinic.
Duties
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments while managing the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Handle incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EHR systems such as Intergy, Greenway , EPIC, Phreesia , Meditech etc
- Review care plans and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Provide administrative support including filing, typing, and clerical tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient intake processes.
- Address patient concerns and inquiries to enhance overall patient satisfaction.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of health information management practices.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Intergy, Greenway , EPIC, Phreesia , Meditech etc.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively.
- Familiarity with Medicare guidelines and insurance processes is beneficial.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
