Please note that this site is currently closed for renovations, with an expected reopening later this year (Fall/Winter 2026).
Temporary Work Locations
While renovations are ongoing, staff will rotate between two clinic locations:
- Henry Ford Hamtramck Clinic (typically Monday & Tuesday)
- Henry Ford East Jefferson Clinic (typically Wednesday–Friday)
Once renovations are complete, the position will be permanently based in Grosse Pointe.
Current Schedule
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 3rd Saturday of each month: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Anticipated Schedule After Grosse Pointe Reopens
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 2nd Saturday of each month: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
No Sundays or holidays required.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients.
These duties may include but are not limited to the
- Greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room.
- Obtaining medical histories.
- The measurement and recording of vital signs.
- Preparing patients for an examination/procedure.
- Assisting the provider during the examination/procedure.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
- Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
- EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
- Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA/CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Associations Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR
Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR
Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR
Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR
Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
