Role Description
The communications Coordinator is the guardian of Internal Creations’ organizational voice with the responsibility for executing a lean, high-impact content strategy. This role ensures our mission resonates with donors, participants, and community partners across digital platforms. The coordinator focuses on storytelling that drives engagement rather than vanity metrics, translating our on-the-ground impact into compelling digital narratives. This role is hybrid where the majority of work is remote, but will require site visits for content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Calendar Management: Plan and schedule 1 week of social content with strategy. (Developing and implementing communication plans for fundraising, program recruitment, and general awareness, often using digital tools and platforms)
- Brand & Digital Storytelling: Produce minimum 3-5 high quality photo/video assets per week (captured during monthly in-person visits) using mobile-first tools (Canva, CapCut, Later). Amplifying the organization's mission through compelling stories, managing brand assets (logos, images), and ensuring consistent messaging.
- Newsletter Curation: Draft and deploy quarterly email newsletters (via constant contact) to update our subscriber base
- Community Engagement: Monitor comments/DMS daily to foster relationships and triage inquiries to appropriate I.C. staff. (This helps with connecting with stakeholders like youth, families, funders, partner organizations, and media that can cultivate relationships)
- Analytics Reporting: Pull weekly metrics (opens, click-throughs, follows) to identify what content resonates with our audience.
Essential Qualifications
- Comfortable and proactive with posting on all social media platforms daily
- Exceptional writing skills and the ability to create clear, engaging content and storytelling tailored for diverse audiences
- Proactive and team-oriented attitude to collaborate and communicate effectively with organizational staff, and have the ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Strong management and organizational skills
- Strong skills in press releases and media relations
- Proficiency in communication and strategic communication planning
- Detail oriented with proofreading
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in working with non-profit organizations or community-based initiatives is a plus
- Fluency in Spanish speaking, reading and writing is a plus
- Passion for music, music education, youth development and community impact
- Passion for creating and editing musical and emotional content
Starting rate:
- $25-hour for 6 hours a week
