Job Summary:Oversees all aspects of the beverage operation, including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluation. This role involves maintaining high standards of beverage presentation and sanitation, controlling costs, maximizing sales through staff motivation and training, and ensuring compliance with Xanterra and National Park Service policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Deliver Xanterra’s “Legendary Hospitality” by providing warm, knowledgeable and professional service in all guest interactions
- Maintain a visible presence in the bar and dining area, ensuring guests receive prompt and attentive service
- Prepare and serve beverages when needed, ensuring quality, accuracy and consistency in every pour
- Uphold high standards for drink presentation, glassware and garnish quality
- Handle guest concerns or feedback with professionalism and discretion
Bar Operations & Inventory Management
- Oversee daily bar setup, stocking and breakdown, ensuring efficient and organized operations
- Manage beverage inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage and accurate recordkeeping
- Monitor product usage, minimize waste and control costs in accordance with company standards
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding alcohol service and sales
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in all bar and beverage service areas in compliance with health and sanitation standards
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead, train, and motivate bar staff to uphold consistent service and quality standards.
- Support professional growth by fostering a culture of learning, teamwork and accountability
- Schedule bar staff to meet operational needs while maintaining labor and budget targets.
- Provide clear direction during shifts to ensure smooth service and effective communication between bar, dining and kitchen teams
- Lead by example with integrity, professionalism, and enthusiasm
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist in developing and updating cocktail menus, wine lists, and seasonal beverage features
- Monitor cash handling, POS accuracy and adherence to financial procedures
- Support restaurant management with opening and closing duties, shift reports and operational checklists
- Collaborate with the front-of-house management team to maintain consistency in service, policy adherence and guest satisfaction

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Beverage Knowledge: Strong understanding of spirits, cocktails, beer, and wine including mixology techniques, product sourcing and presentation standards
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, train and motivate a team while maintaining a positive and professional work environment
- Guest Service Orientation: Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences consistent with Xanterra’s “Legendary Hospitality.”
- Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with inventory management, ordering systems and cost control procedures
- Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of responsible alcohol service laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies. Montana TIPs certification required(will provided training)
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to resolve guest and staff concerns tactfully and effectively
- Organization & Time Management: Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail in a fast-paced service environment
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS systems and basic office software
- Professionalism: Maintains a polished appearance, dependable work ethic and respectful demeanor consistent with Xanterra’s values
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of bartending experience in a full-service or casual fine dining restaurant, with at least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Responsible for scheduling and oversight of the bar staff (bartenders/bar servers/bar server assistants)
Physical Requirements include:
- Walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
- Bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Working safely with required chemicals.
