**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks within the shop environment, supporting the production and maintenance processes.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist in organizing and maintaining tools, equipment, and materials in the shop
- Aid in the preparation of materials for machining, welding, and fabrication processes
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and other machinery as needed
- Support the team in handling power tools, hand tools, and sheet metal for production tasks
- Help with basic welding tasks using FCAW techniques
**Qualifications:**
- Experience or familiarity with construction site operations
- Knowledge of machining processes is a plus
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently
- Understanding of welding techniques including FCAW
- Familiarity with hand tools commonly used in fabrication work
- Experience with sheet metal handling is advantageous
- Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions accurately
