What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Intermountain Eye & Laser Centers?
JOB SUMMARY
Intermountain Eye Centers is currently looking for an individual who enjoys being a part of a team and providing excellent patient care. We have five different offices that work together to help serve patients in the Treasure Valley. All our offices can get busy, so a great candidate for this position is someone who can be a self-starter who once they know their tasks can accomplish them without much direction. We try to keep a team-oriented culture at Intermountain Eye Center, it is important to feel comfortable asking one another questions and for help when needed. In this position, the patients come first, and we strive to give them a great experience when they come into our offices.
A good applicant for this position is flexible and willing/able to travel different locations if needed. The five offices are located in Boise, Downtown Boise, Eagle, Meridian, and Eagle. Previous experience in customer service is preferred. Must be comfortable with learning some medical terminology, helping triage patient symptoms, and prepared to ask questions when needing further information. A good fit is someone who notices and is willing to help where needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checking patients in and out of appointments
- Update insurance information in computer
- Collect payment for services rendered
- Answer phones and make appointments for new patients and follow-up visits
- Triage patient symptoms
- Issue appointment cards
- Enter patient demographics in computer
- Pulling medical records for appointments
- Greeting patients and assisting patients as needed
- Entering referrals and calling patients to schedule
- Following HIPAA guidelines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
