Commercial Lines Account Manager

Intermountain Business Insurance is seeking a highly motivated, disciplined, and experienced professional to join our growing Commercial Lines Division as an Account Manager.

Our commercial portfolio includes a diverse mix of industries such as construction, hospitality, manufacturing, distributors, and other small to mid-sized businesses. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical insurance knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

The Commercial Lines Account Manager works closely with Producers and agency leadership to maintain strong client relationships, execute account strategy, and support long-term account retention and profitability.

This individual will be responsible for all aspects of servicing and managing commercial insurance accounts, including renewals, policy analysis, marketing, client communication, and carrier negotiations.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and carrier partners
• Manage day-to-day servicing of commercial accounts
• Review policies, endorsements, coverages, forms, and rates for accuracy and completeness
• Process endorsements, certificates, binders, ID cards, invoices, and related policy documents
• Coordinate renewal marketing efforts and obtain competitive quotations from carriers
• Analyze carrier proposals and recommend appropriate markets and coverage solutions
• Maintain strong working relationships with underwriters and negotiate terms when necessary
• Monitor daily activities, workflows, suspense items, and follow-up tasks
• Maintain accurate and organized account documentation within agency management systems
• Assist with resolving billing discrepancies, omitted items, and commission differences
• Coordinate premium financing requests with the Accounting Department
• Keep Producers informed regarding account activity, renewals, and client concerns
• Accompany Producers on client visits and meetings when appropriate
• Help develop and improve internal servicing workflows and operational efficiencies
• Provide leadership, accountability, and support to team members as needed

• Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience within an independent insurance agency
• Strong background servicing and marketing commercial lines renewals
• Active Property & Casualty License required
• Excellent knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, underwriting, and carrier markets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage large workloads and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong leadership, follow-up, and organizational skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including formulas, spreadsheets, and pivot tables
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies, coverage forms, contracts, and regulations
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
