Summary
Intermap is a global leader in geospatial content development and intelligence solutions. The primary responsibilities of the IT Systems Administrator are to support and maintain the core infrastructure that powers critical applications. You’ll be responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software systems, with an emphasis on reliability and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine to complex setup, installation, and configuration of the operating system (including hardware and software), new software releases, and upgrades.
- Monitor, tune, diagnose, and resolve routine to complex operating system, application, and database problems.
- Provide support to end users, ensuring that systems perform reliably and that required applications are deployed successfully.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair routine to complex problems with applications and integrations. The candidate should have a strong background in Windows.
- Develop, test, and implement routine to complex scripts to automate standard functions or system operations.
- Consult with users to identify existing system problems, then evaluate and recommend various software and hardware solutions to meet user needs.
- Respond to and mitigate security vulnerabilities under the direction of the VP, Information Technology and Security.
- Design and develop migration scripts, implement monitoring and alerting
- Manage permissions on the system level, data management, and middleware.
- Create/configure monitoring systems to proactively ensure application performance.
- Provide support for end-user systems, accounts, and devices as needed.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of hands-on experience in IT systems administration, supporting hardware and software infrastructure.
- 2 years' experience managing applications in both Windows and Linux environments; familiarity with Windows clusters, Hyper-V, SharePoint, and Office 365.
- 3 years’ experience with Microsoft System Center tools (Configuration Manager, Operations Manager, Virtual Machine Manager).
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including switching, routing, and VPNs (4 years).
- Experience managing and deploying to cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure (2 years).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for system maintenance and deployment tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
