We design and produce custom upholstery in our Virginia workshop, and we sell through interior designers, retail trade partners, dealers, and wholesale accounts. You are part of the design and product operations engine behind a growing brand. Working side by side with the Chief Merchandising Officer and the Design Team, you help turn ideas into the catalogs, campaigns, and brand assets that show the world what Interlude Home stands for.

Where You Focus
- Brand & creative design (primary). The core of the role. You’ll learn to produce real work across print, digital, and packaging for a brand with a strong point of view.
- Product & brand operations (you grow into this). A genuine look behind the curtain at how a product gets made and launched, working across teams and systems that run the business.
- Curiosity and craft. You care about interiors and design, you sweat the details, and you want exposure to both the creative and product driven operations of a company.
Core Responsibilities
The role lives across three key areas. While the core is Brand Creative, the ideal candidate is energized by both design and operations - equally comfortable shaping visual identity as they are learning & supporting the processes that bring products to life.
Brand Creative
- Support graphic design projects across catalogs, brochures, signage and digital assets for web, print and sales.
- Assist in developing packaging, hangtags, labels, and other branded collateral from concept through print-ready handoff
- Conduct market, trend, and the competitive research to help shape brand storytelling and contribute to the seasonal presentations that set the tone for each launch
Digital & Campaign Production
- Create social and email marketing assets in collaboration with the Visual Design Manager
- Aid in retouching of product photography for e-commerce, marketing and sales
- Adapt campaign creative across formats and channels without losing the brand’s look
- Maintain design files and digital assets library
Product & Brand Operations
- Own the organization of the brand swatch program, coordinating with Customer Service to ensure timely distribution of sales materials to the sales force
- Maintain the Swatch Library and align material samples for new product introductions
- Support SKU creation and product setup by verifying materials, dimensions, and specs. Maintain accurate product data and documentation across internal systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Web, Customer Service, and Sales to support alignment for seasonal calendar milestones
What You Bring
- A portfolio or PDF work samples that show real design thinking (required with your application)
- A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field
- 0–2 years of design, product development, or related internship experience; home or interiors industry a plus
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Strong organization and the ability to move several projects forward at once
- Clear, confident communication, written and in person, including in presentations
- A real passion for interiors, furniture, and where design is heading
- Bonus: photo retouching, CAD, or PLM experience, and a willingness to travel occasionally as needed

In the First 90 Days
- You are producing publish-ready creative across multiple channels with light direction
- You know the brand’s files, libraries, and standards well enough to keep them organized without being asked
- The swatch program and product setup tasks you own are running on time and accurate
Ongoing
- Your work raises the consistency and polish of the brand across all customer touchpoints
- You are a dependable collaborator with Design, Web, Customer Service, and Sales
- Your portfolio is visibly growing, and so is your range across creative and product. You are expanding your knowledge of the end-to-end operations of a luxury home design business.
Role Clarity
- Owns: Hands-on graphic design execution, the brand swatch program and library, design file and asset organization, and accurate product setup and data for the work assigned to you.
- Supports: Campaign and social creative, packaging and collateral development, seasonal trend presentations, competitive research, and the company newsletter.
- Grows into: Deeper ownership of brand creative and broader product development exposure as you prove range and judgment. Ability to expand your level of responsibility in the areas of the business that most excite you.

- Reports to: Chief Merchandising Officer
- Works closely with: the Design Team, Visual Design Manager, Product Development, Web, Customer Service, and Sales
- Location: On-site at our Trumbull, CT headquarters. Occasional travel as needed.
