What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESL Instructor position at INTERLINK International Institutes?
Job Summary:
We are seeking two passionate and dedicated English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers to join our team for a special summer program for Japanese administrators. As an ESL Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to these adult learners who are at a high intermediate to low advanced level of English. You will create a supportive and engaging learning environment to assist these administrators in improving their academic writing skills and their ability to speaking English effectively in an American work environment. Please note training and planning meetings will be held in May, and the classes will be held in June and July.
Duties:
- Teach one or two classes: Writing & Research and /or Business Communication
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with course objectives
- Provide individualized instruction to meet the diverse needs of the administrators
- Create engaging and interactive lessons that enable learners to use English confidently for writing and speaking
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and collaboration
- Assess student progress and provide specific, meaningful feedback on their language development
- Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance language learning experiences
Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with learners and colleagues
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for teaching English as a Second Language, especially academic writing, advanced speaking skills, pronunciation, and vocabulary development
- Familiarity with instructional design principles and materials for adult language learners
- Intercultural communication
-Must have at least 3 years of ESL teaching experience with adults and a Master's degree in TESOL, linguistics, education, or a related field. In lieu of a master's degree in one of these fields, we will consider candidates with more extensive teaching experience.
