QUALIFICATION
- Captioning/Interpreting Accuracy: Proven ability to deliver real-time captioning or interpreting with accuracy, completeness, and fidelity to the spirit and content of the original communication across medical, legal, educational, and community settings.
- Cultural Competence: Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including non-English speaking persons.
- Communication Skills: Skilled at meeting the communication needs of the general public, medical staff, community members, governmental agencies, and internal committees.
- Training & Experience: Combination of formal training and relevant professional experience in captioning, interpreting, or related communication services.
- Compliance Requirements: Willingness and ability to obtain medical clearances as required (e.g., immunization/vaccination records) and complete background checks.
- Licensure: Possession of a valid California drivers license (or other applicable license).
- Technology Access: Reliable access to a cell phone, computer, and/or smartphone for assignment coordination and captioning work.
