Interior Logic Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Countertop Fabrication General Manager to lead operations at our Auburn, WA fabrication facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of countertop fabrication, machine programing, production, safety, quality, scheduling, inventory, and team leadership. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of countertop fabrication, machine programing, production, safety, quality, scheduling, inventory, and team leadership. The General Manager will drive operational excellence, ensure on-time delivery, control costs, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead all countertop fabrication operations, including templating, programming, fabrication, finishing, and installation coordination.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, quality, on-time delivery, and cost control.
- Directly lead and develop fabrication managers, supervisors, and support staff.
- Build a strong, engaged team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and performance.
- Recruit, train, and retain skilled fabrication talent.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
- Champion a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all OSHA, company, and local safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant fabrication facility.
- Investigate and address safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Ensure countertops meet or exceed ILG quality standards and customer expectations.
- Partner with sales, transactional ops, field operations, and installation teams to resolve issues and improve the customer experience.
- Address and resolve escalated customer or builder concerns related to fabrication.
- Own the fabrication P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, labor control, material costs, and capital expenditures.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins through process improvements, sourcing, and labor optimization and cost control initiatives.
- Manage inventory levels, material usage, and scrap reduction.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to align fabrication operations with ILG’s strategic goals.
- Partner with supply chain, scheduling, and field teams to ensure seamless workflow from order intake through installation.
- Support growth initiatives, including capacity expansion, new product/tool introductions, and process standardization.
- 7 years of leadership experience in countertop or stone fabrication environment.
- Proven experience managing multi-shift operations and leading teams of 20 employees.
- Strong understanding of stone, quartz, and solid surface fabrication processes.
- Demonstrated success managing budgets, labor costs, and operational KPIs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CNC machinery, automation, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with builder, multi-family, or high-volume residential/production construction environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/fabrication environment with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy materials.
- Ability to walk the production floor regularly and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Willingness to work extended or flexible hours to meet operational demands.
- Ability to travel to jobsites within the Seattle and Portland metro areas.
