Interior Exterior Building Supply, the number one commercial and residential building material supplier in the Southeast, is searching for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team!
Interior Exterior Building Supply is headquartered in New Orleans with over 34 branches located throughout the region. This position will be responsible for multiple day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter able to work with minimum supervision; detail oriented; team player and willing to help where help is needed; proactive and forward thinker; interested in personal growth!
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately post and apply cash receipts to customer accounts
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies by working closely with customers and internal teams. Provide exceptional customer service in handling corrections
- Maintain organized and accurate A/R records to support month-end balancing and reporting
- Prepare and process daily bank deposits
- Prepare journal entries, adjusting and correcting entries, accruals and reversing entries, including supporting documentation and appropriate descriptions
- Support company policies and assist management where necessary
- Backup for Accounts Payable functions
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in [ERP/accounting software—Sx.e and/or Esker] a
- Associate degree in Accounting 2 years’ experience OR 4 years accounting/administrative experience
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or related accounting role
- Knowledge and ability to use MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of the sales order process, from order entry through fulfillment and payment
- Familiarity with sales tax rules and applications
- Be able to work autonomously as well as within a group
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management
- Must have good organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
