Interior Exterior Building Supply, the number one commercial and residential building material supplier in the Southeast, is searching for Dispatcher/Logistics Clerk for our newest location in Opelika, AL!
Job Responsibilities
- Assigns drivers and vehicles to convey freight or passengers to assigned destination
- Arrange shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating delivery requirements, and placing and expediting orders
- Keeps customers informed by forwarding notice of item availability, shipment date and method, current status, and answering questions
- Tracks driver assignments and other shipping data in a computer database
- Perform administrative tasks such as arranging transportation methods, and managing shipping schedules
- Ensure that electronic or paper files are kept accurately and up-to-date in order to track orders and answer billing questions
- Assist in inspecting orders that arrive at the facility to identify damage and input information into inventory records
- Handle replacement for incorrect or damaged goods
- Prepare shipping paperwork, complete shipping transactions in supply chain system, and ship products per customer requirements
- Assist with warehouse organization
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of dispatching/logistics experience
- Forklift certification or the ability to get certified is required
- Excellent communication skills are required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office required
