Licensed Practical Nurse Job Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and providing compassionate, individualized care
- Administering medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols
- Assisting patients with ambulation, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations
- Providing wound care and monitoring wound healing
- Providing care for patients with PEG tubes and assisting with related feeding needs, as applicable
- Administering infusions and monitoring patients for responses or potential complications, as applicable
- Conducting nursing assessments and monitoring patients for changes in condition that may require adjustments to their plan of care, medications, or medical equipment
- Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Performing other nursing duties as assigned within the LPN scope of practice
- Assignment dependent: Capacity to act as the charge nurse on the floor for the entirety of scheduled shift.
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in South Dakota, or eligibility for licensure through reciprocity or multistate privileges, as applicable.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous LPN experience highly preferred
- Must maintain all required certifications, qualifications, and professional standards
- Ability to provide compassionate, professional nursing care in a variety of healthcare settings
