Certified Nursing Assistant Responsibilities
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Interim HealthCare, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents in long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding and personal hygiene
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ conditions, behaviors, or overall well-being to the appropriate nursing staff
- Measuring and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations, as assigned
- Assisting with meals, feeding, and hydration while following individual care plans and dietary requirements
- Providing emotional support and promoting residents’ comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life
- Following infection prevention protocols, facility policies, and established safety procedures.
- Documenting care provided and communicating important information to nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team
- Performing other duties as assigned within the scope of CNA certification and facility requirements
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in South Dakota, or the ability to obtain certification through reciprocity or endorsement, as applicable
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous CNA experience preferred
- Ability to adapt to different facility environments, care plans, and resident needs
- Must maintain all required certifications, credentials, and professional standards.
- Must meet applicable facility-specific requirements and complete all required pre-employment screenings and onboarding procedures.
