Certified Surgical First Attendant ( CSFA )

As a CSFA you will:
- Works under the direction of the Perioperative Leader to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
- Takes responsibility for supporting the patient, surgeon, and surgical team.
- Anticipates and responds to the needs of the patient and surgical team.
- Assists the surgeon during procedures to help the operation run safely and efficiently.
- Helps with:
- Providing surgical exposure
- Maintaining hemostasis (controlling bleeding)
- Performing other technical surgical tasks
- Maintains patient and workplace confidentiality.
- Protects private information about patients, families, coworkers, and physicians.
A few must-haves for CSFA's:

Active NBSTSA license in the state of Indiana

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)

2 years of recent CSFA experience

Ability to stay calm under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team

Proficiency in basic vital signs and medication administration.

Ability to set up, pass, and assist on a variety of cases. Understand and perform duties of an FA in robotic cases.
- Must be okay with occasional floating to Neuro and Ortho along with general OR
