Substitute CNA Classroom Assistant
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide substitute classroom support for students with medical and personal-care needs.
This is a classroom assistant position with some nursing-related responsibilities. The CNA will work alongside school staff to help students participate safely and comfortably throughout the school day.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with feedings, primarily through G-tubes and occasionally by mouth.
- Provide toileting and personal-care assistance.
- Assist with safe transfers to wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment.
- Support students with daily activities in the classroom.
- Follow each student’s established care plan and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, nurses, and other school staff.
- Maintain students’ dignity, safety, and privacy.
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience assisting individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs is preferred.
- Experience with G-tube feeding is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable providing toileting, feeding, mobility, and transfer assistance.
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and able to work effectively in a classroom environment.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and health screenings.
