Senior Account Executive- Public Safety (Remote- Mountain West / US)

Responsibilities

Octave is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our Public Safety team focused on new logo accounts. At Octave, we are modernizing mission-critical Public Safety technology used by state and local government agencies across the U.S. The Account Manager will own sales and account development for Octave's public-safety solutions (Protect Division) within the assigned territory, principally selling to 911/PSAPs, police, fire, EMS, communications centers, municipalities, counties, and other government/public-safety organizations.

• Own the territory attainment goal, sales strategy, pipeline, forecast, and bookings/revenue target.
• Develop new public-safety accounts while maintaining and expanding Octave's existing installed base.
• Sell Octave's public-safety portfolio, particularly OnCall Dispatch / CAD, Mobiles and RMS
• Manage complex government procurement cycles involving operational users, IT, agency leadership, purchasing, consultants, and elected/administrative stakeholders.
• Conduct discovery to understand an agency's dispatch operations, technology environment, integrations, workflows, and modernization requirements.
• Coordinate demonstrations, technical validation, and solution design with solution consultants, and product specialists.
• Develop proposals, pricing, business cases, and responses to RFPs/RFIs.
• Negotiate software, services, maintenance/subscription, and implementation agreements through contract award.
• Build executive relationships with 911 directors, communications managers, police/fire leadership, CIO/IT organizations, and government decision-makers.
• Maintain CRM opportunity data, pipeline stages, probability, forecast dates, and territory/account plans.
• Track competitors and upcoming CAD/RMS/NG911 procurement activity.
• Represent Octave at public-safety conferences, association meetings, customer events, and regional industry gatherings.

Education / Qualifications

• 5 years enterprise software sales experience selling into state and local government or public safety agencies
• Strong track record of exceeding $1M annual quota
• Deep experience with RFP-driven, complex enterprise sales cycles
• Proven success in SaaS / cloud transformation sales environments
• Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior government stakeholders
• Effective work with supporting members of Sales team, Consulting, Customer Support Group, Development, Marketing and Sales Management
• Willingness to Travel 25-50%
• Previous experience as a first responder and/or on a first responder support team highly preferred
