Our Logistics and Mission Support Division is seeking a US&R Equipment Support Specialist (Technician II) to join our team in Edgewood, MD in support of Defense CBRN Response Force mission.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented technical specialist to join our team supporting the Defense Chemical Response Force (DCRF) mission and Command and Control CBRN Response Element - Bravo (C2CRE-B). This full-time position will be integral in maintaining and supporting US&R (Urban Search and Rescue) and Medical Company Area Support (MCAS) equipment for operational readiness and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair US&R equipment, ensuring it meets operational standards for DCRF and C2CRE-B missions.
• Prepare refresh and sustainment equipment for US&R and MCAS.
• Perform regular inspections and testing of equipment to ensure functionality and readiness.
• Support logistics coordination for equipment delivery, fielding, and sustainment activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to personnel regarding US&R equipment operation.
• Support inventory maintenance and recertification of equipment.
• Identify, address and track equipment shortages and services that need scheduling.
• Utilize, and maintain inventory system to track equipment status, updates, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
• Prepare and update documentation, including maintenance logs and reports.
• Required to travel to fielding, and sustainment visits in various location about 25% of the time.
  
  

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant equivalent experience; technical certification or relevant military experience is preferred.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with automation tools is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with inventory systems and computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable working in warehouse and field environments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• US Military experience.
• US Military logistics understanding such as supply accountability, and supply storage.
• US&R equipment knowledge experience.
• Small engines knowledge.
• Forklift driver (Stand up and/or Sit down) experience.
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance at the required (Secret) level, prior to starting work. Must be able to maintain the required clearance. Clearance eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Summary

This role is for an Equipment Specialist (Technician II) specializing in Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) equipment, supporting the Defense CBRN Response Force (DCRF) and Command and Control CBRN Response Element - Bravo (C2CRE-B) mission in Edgewood, MD. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting US&R and Medical Company Area Support (MCAS) equipment to ensure operational readiness and deployment. This includes preparing equipment for refresh and sustainment, managing inventory using dedicated systems, and coordinating logistics for equipment delivery and sustainment activities.

Successful candidates will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience with inventory systems, and the ability to work comfortably in both warehouse and field environments. A college degree or equivalent experience is required, with technical certifications or military experience being a plus. Preferred qualifications include US military experience, knowledge of US&R equipment, and small engine experience. This position requires approximately 25% travel for fielding and sustainment visits, U.S. citizenship, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (secret) prior to starting work.
