If you're passionate about making a difference and thrive in a service-driven environment, we invite you to be part of our mission!What You'll Do:In the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) role, you’ll collaborate with the other VITA coordinator and oversee the daily operations of several Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. Your responsibilities include ensuring that all volunteers are certified at the appropriate level, adhering to the operating procedures outlined in IRS Publication 1084, ensuring the timely completion and e-filing of all tax returns, and supporting the overall mission of Interfaith Community Services (ICS).Oversees the daily operations of the Inland and Coastal site locations (Escondido, Poway, San Marcos, Vista, and Oceanside)Ensures monthly quotas are met, per contract requirements with the IRSTrains new volunteers on Interfaith’s processes; supervises VITA volunteersCoordinates volunteer schedules to ensure coverage of all shiftsReports back to the supervisor on VITA volunteer progress and performanceEnsures all volunteers have completed and maintain a basic level of certification, and that Form 13615 is on file at each site location for each volunteerAdheres to all Quality Site Requirements as shown in IRS publication 1084Ensures client files are secured, up-to-date, and completeAssigns a secondary VITA volunteer to quality review tax return; conducts a quality review after the secondary reviewSubmits all tax returns to the IRS promptly per IRS VITA standardsReviews, corrects and resends rejected tax files and pending tax files dailyEnsures tax returns outside the scope of the VITA program are referred to a paid preparerAttends monthly VITA coalition meetings and shares information with the Program Manager and VolunteersEnsures all tax clients complete necessary documents and this information is entered into the designated database systemCompletes and submits monthly reports to Program ManagerComplete exit interviews with taxpayers through Virtual Counseling Network, as neededAll other duties as assigned by the supervisorRequirements:Who You Are:You're passionate about making a lasting impact, whether supporting individuals directly or enhancing our organizational effectiveness.
