We are building a universal banking assistant that millions of U.S. consumers can use to transact across all financial institutions and, over time, autonomously drive their financial goals. Powered by our proprietary BankGPT platform, this assistant is positioned to displace age-old legacy systems within financial institutions and own the end-to-end CX stack, unlocking a $200B opportunity and potentially replacing multiple publicly traded companies.

Ultimately, our mission is to drive financial well-being for millions of consumers.

With over two-thirds of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, 50% holding less than $500 in savings, and only 17% financially literate, we aim to put financial well-being on autopilot to help solve this problem.

About the Role

We're growing fast — and we need someone who thrives in that. interface.ai is scaling our San Francisco office from 23 to 75 people in the coming months, with a global team approaching 200 by year end. This is a founding role as a People Partner & Ops in the US, and we're looking for someone who is equal parts operator, community builder, and strategic partner.

You'll own the full employee experience in our SF office — from the moment someone signs an offer letter to the rhythm of their daily work life. You'll also steward the physical space itself, making sure our environment reflects where we're headed, not just where we've been. What You'll Own

People Partnerships — Drive business leader partnerships to align people strategy — performance, org design, employee relations — with business goals versus purely transactional & administrative HR function.

People Operations — The full employee lifecycle: onboarding, policies, compliance, benefits coordination, and day-to-day employee experience.

Workplace — Office space decisions, vendor relationships, and creating an environment people genuinely want to come into.

Culture — Programming, rituals, and moments that make interface.ai SF feel like a real community.

Responsibilities

• Build and run a best-in-class onboarding experience that makes every new hire feel set up, welcomed, and genuinely excited from Day 1
• Own HR operations end-to-end in the US: offer letters, policies, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance across federal and California regulations
• Lead office space strategy — evaluate, negotiate, and manage our SF workspace as we scale, including vendor and facilities relationships
• Create and maintain workplace programs, team events, and cultural touchpoints that bring our values to life in-person
• Partner with the Head of People on talent and people strategy as we grow from 125 to 200 globally
• Be the go-to resource for employees navigating day-to-day questions around benefits, workplace needs, and HR topics
• Build scalable systems and processes from scratch — you'll be the first US HR Ops hire, so this is a blank canvas
• Serve as the heartbeat of the SF office; you'll know everyone by name, notice what's working (and what isn't), and take action

What We're Looking For

• 4 years of experience in People Operations and the HRBP function — ideally at a high-growth tech startup environment
• Working knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance; you don't need to be a lawyer, but you need to know when to call one
• Experience in a strategic People Partner capacity who knows how to org design and plan
• Knowledge of how a successful performance cycle operates and how to get there
• Experience owning or co-owning an office space — vendor management, space planning, facilities decision-making
• Exceptional organizational skills paired with the flexibility to pivot when the day goes sideways (and it will)
• Strong communicator — warm and approachable with employees, professional and precise with stakeholders
• A builder mentality: you see gaps and fill them, you see inefficiencies and fix them, and you don't wait to be asked
• Genuine enthusiasm for culture — you think about what makes a workplace special and take that seriously
• Comfort operating with autonomy in an ambiguous environment; you have strong instincts and the confidence to act on them

Bonus Points

• Experience scaling a team through a hyper-growth period (doubling or tripling headcount)
• Background in setting up HR infrastructure from the ground up at a startup
• Familiarity with HR and ATS platforms (Rippling, Greenhouse, Lattice, Ashby or similar)
