What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Crew Lead position at Intercounty Appliance?
Warehouse Crew Lead
11am – 8pm (Sunday – Thursday)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations:
1. Ensures written procedures are updated, communicated, posted and followed (updates approved by Supervisor(s) / Director). Actively pursues the modification of documents and procedures should new product or other circumstances dictate.
2. Verifies lanes for accuracy.
a. Counts pieces in lane in accordance with procedures
b. Verifies cone placement at end of the line.
c. Reports issues to Supervisor for resolution.
3. Accurately scans product and serial numbers (when presented) as product passes the gate.
4. Examine all sides of packaging prior to scanning to ensure that the product shipped to the dealers are free of damage. Uses and signs off on “Green” inspection stickers, should boxes need to be retaped and shipped.
5. Pulls damaged pieces from the line; replaces and records transaction via paperwork for the supervisor to action. This includes any damage found before scanning and after scanning.
6. Monitors and directs associates on loading of the trailer. Including but not limited to; shot gunning, slip skids, load last, use of dunnage bags, strapping, carton marking (truck code) in line, carton marking (truck code (truck walls), stacking according to weight(light product on top) and signage.
7. Trains new hires on proper lifting techniques, proper use of hand truck and pallet jacks. Submits paperwork.
8. Ensure trucks that are at a high percentage of capacity (100 -110 percent) are packed safe, tight from the beginning of the load to the last piece.
9. Ensure truck envelopes are placed on the correct truck.
10. Ensure loading starts on time at start of shift, after breaks and lunch. Talks to associates about promptness and reports any issues to shift supervisor(s).
11. Prior to shift start, ensures there are enough straps and slip skids for the evening and beyond. Anticipates and acts immediately when and if this occurs.
12. Boxes small pieces together and clearly marks carton with truck code. Places on truck so it is not lost or damaged.
13. Treats people with respect
Safety / Housekeeping:
1. Enforces / cooperates with and complies with all Company safety initiatives, inventory control policies, rules and regulations. Including the use of earphones, phones and etc. Reports noncompliance to Supervisor(s) and Director.
2. Reports any injuries and or defective equipment to the shift supervisor. Ensure incident reports for injuries are completed and that defective equipment is removed from service.
Employees:
1.Actively addresses routine employee complaints and questions. Escalates employee disputes to the supervisor’s level.
2.Monitors employees’ arrival time breaks and lunches to ensure they are present and working according to their schedule. Initially addresses any issues with the associate but escalates to Supervisory level when behavior continues or does not change.
Other:
1.In the event of increased volume, covers hours needed by the department to ensure trucks are loaded and ready for shipment.
