What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at Intercon, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the customer accounts in regard to the manufacturing of Intercon product, specifically related to meeting customer requirements; maintaining internal and external systems; and overseeing all other areas necessary for the managing of the customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Submit precise quote requests to engineering group (data entry accuracy, sufficient information provided)
- Ensure organized and thorough documentation is submitted to engineering.
- Develop understanding and familiarity of details of quotes
- Clearly present quote information to the customer in the most simplified, but accurate way possible
- Follow up with customer on submitted quotes and give feedback to management
- Process orders in 24 hour time frame and with 100% accurately
- Ensure any excess charges are properly accounted for and managed
- Review ordered assemblies for requote needs & successfully perform requote exercise to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction
- Obtain & enter promise dates from manufacturing for all orders due within a week's timeframe.
- Enforce lead time - but always investigate the possibility of improved ship dates with manufacturing when necessary
- Proactively manage the flow of customer orders through each work center
- Reallocate material when appropriate to meet customer dates
- Communicate material concerns with purchasing group and collaborate on improvement efforts
- Use all resources available with quality & shipping departments to make certain orders ship on time.
- Utilize customer specific tools/resources to effectively communicate PO confirmation & date maintenance
- Work with all departments to maximize sales opportunities & meet monthly company goals
- Strive for 100% on time delivery to all Intercon customers
- Strive for 100% customer satisfaction via open and honest communication regarding account status, confidence and trust, quick response, and foster an "ease of doing business" relationship
- Effectively communicate all customer goals and concerns to management team
- Follow all department SOPs
- Demonstrate collaborate, teamwork and problem solving with all departments in Intercon
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field plus 1-3 years experience in customer service or account management, or equivalent combination of education and experience (4 ).
Experience: 1-3 years industry experience
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
