The Welder works as part of a crew to weld gas pipe.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads, unloads, and transports construction materials and tools.
- Signals Operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
- Prepares pipe alignment on worksite.
- Assemble and welds gas piping of various sizes.
- Communicates and assists as needed, through site foreman.
- Follows safety standards throughout the process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, and coating joints.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass Wisconsin Utility Association (WUA) weld test.
- Must have tapping experience tapping with Mueller fittings.
- Experience welding gas mains preferred.
- Education in Gas & Utilities Construction preferred.
- Possesses a valid Driver’s License in good standing,
- Class A CDL preferred.
- Travel required within the state of Wisconsin.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs. regularly.
