PURPOSE:
The BCM Supervisor provides administrative supervision of the child and adult BCMs and oversees the day-to-day operations of Blended Case Management (BCM), which supports individuals, who have a behavioral health disorder, with accessing critical behavioral health, medical, social, educational/vocational, and other supportive resources within their community.
FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the administrative operations of all Child BCM services in accordance with State, County, and Agency requirements.
- Supervise BCM staff, including routine performance evaluations.
- Maintain a limited number of billable hours per week.
- Work to ensure policies and procedures are aligned with Interact’s mission and promote quality care and fiscally sound business practices.
- Review incident reports for BCM and work with Compliance Officer on any corrective steps.
- Work with Finance and Compliance Officer to monitor authorization/billing accuracy.
- Assist BCM Director with updating policies and procedures to minimize waits for services, promote integration of care across programs, improve quality, and increase our capacity to serve more individuals.
- Implement system for routinely monitoring program census, staff caseloads/productivity, and quality indicators including engagement, progress on goals, and service connection.
- Model positive self-care and support BCMs in setting appropriate boundaries within their role to prevent vicarious trauma and burnout.
- Support team with getting trained in Motivational Interviewing, with an emphasis on client empowerment and accountability/ reducing risk for co-dependency on BCM, with progress on treatment goals and benchmarks being reviewed regularly in supervision.
- Weekly monitoring of staff billing, engagement/productivity rates, and caseloads (not to exceed 25 for children and 29 for adults). This will include a weekly review of staff documentation to ensure timely completion of progress notes and treatment plans to prevent delays with billing.
- Audit charts including utilization review for all staff on a quarterly basis at a minimum.
- Monitor staffing needs for BCM and work proactively with HR to address any hiring, credentialing, or training needs.
- Evaluate and monitor BCM needs for training and professional development.
- Participate in community outreach, education and prevention programs as needed.
- Supervise the identification and referral of individuals requiring expanded behavioral health programming.
- Attend internal and external meetings as requested.
- Work with Compliance Officer to build internal mechanisms to monitor and oversee Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), which might include flagging or reporting any compliance issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BCMS must meet one of the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of supervisory experience, preferably in child behavioral health services
- A Master’s Degree with 4 years of supervisory experience, preferably in child behavioral health services.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiarity with Philadelphia system, including behavioral health, legal, social services.
- Knowledge of DSM5, evidence-based treatments, and best practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Must have a valid Childline, PA Criminal History and FBI Clearances prior to commencing work.
- Reliable means of transportation and valid driver’s license from state of residence with a minimum of one (1) year driving experience and a driving record free of at-fault accidents or moving violations for the past year.
- Available for on-call coverage on evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule with the director.
