Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will oversee comprehensive bookkeeping operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by managing complex accounting tasks and producing precise financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, tax reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations regularly to maintain data integrity.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statements and budgets, reports relating to student data, financial data, etc. using various accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Manage full-cycle AP/AR, processing invoices and payments, as requested.
- Ensuring adherence to accounting standards, preparing for audits, and assisting auditors.
- Assist with budget creation, providing financial analysis and identifying cost-saving/tax savings.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards where applicable.
- Handle tax filings, and related reporting requirements with precision.
- Identify inefficiencies and implementing strategies to enhance financial operations.
Skills
- 3 plus years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting
- Extensive experience with the accounting software platform QuickBooks and Excel.
- Proficient in Adobe
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation techniques.
- Solid understanding of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing, account analysis, budgeting, and technical accounting concepts.
- Experience with tax compliance is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
