Job Description
The Senior Manager, Accounting will help shape our Finance organization by playing a key leadership role within the accounting function and building upon the Company’s capability to capture, analyze, and package data into financial statements and actionable insights. This individual will be responsible for core financial reporting to the management team and the annual financial statement review. Along with the management team, this individual is charged with implementing best practices including and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of Intercare’s financial statements and ad-hoc financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings a curious, builder’s mindset — energized by designing processes from scratch and comfortable operating with agility in a high-growth, mid-size company environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and lead month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Prepare detailed journal entries and financial statement account analyses
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including ownership of core financial systems.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and AR/AP agings as necessary
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Drive automation and continuous improvement of finance and accounting processes
- Prepare consolidated monthly financial reporting package for both internal finance organization and management team
- Prepare all supporting information for the annual financial statement review and consult with senior management and the external auditors as necessary to ensure clean review for both annual financial statements and Company retirement plan
- Support the organization's annual financial planning cycle as well as future semi-annual / quarterly reforecast exercises
- Review monthly P&L and Balance Sheet results and support monthly/quarterly budget review meetings with department heads
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and market research to support various projects and key business initiatives
- Partner with IT and Finance leadership on financial systems implementations, integrations, and enhancements, taking ownership of the organization's financial data and systems
- Other duties as needed and assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. ideally in a quantitative field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Sciences)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in California highly preferred
- 5 years of overall direct experience in Accounting / FP&A
- Experience with final responsibility for preparation of all financial data, reporting, and audit coordination for either a division or significant business area
Job Skills and Competencies including
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
- Preference for ERP including QuickBooks Online (QBO); experience with Ramp or a similar AP automation platform is a plus
- Proven subject matter expertise including financial and accounting acumen
- Technologically savvy with experience selecting, implementing, and optimizing finance and accounting systems and managing relationships with software vendors
- A successful history in setting priorities; good judgement, strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution; thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment
- Experience managing, coaching, leading and developing both individual contributors and teams
- Must be comfortable being an individual contributor themselves, with opportunities to build teams in the future;
