JOB TITLE: CCBHC Site Director of Children’s Mental Health Services

We believe that in-person services are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and through essential operational support. This position requires in-person attendance with a team at 1 Brooklyn clinic location with some travel in support of the CCBHC Project.
Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Core Services include:
24 hour crisis mental health services; screening, assessment, and diagnosis; patient-centered treatment planning or similar processes, outpatient mental health and substance use services; health screening and monitoring; targeted case management; psychiatric rehabilitation services; peer advocacy and, community-based mental health care for veterans.
SUMMARY: The Director of Children’s Mental Health Services will be responsible for overseeing site specific CCBHC services and comprehensive care for children and youth. Works with a multidisciplinary leadership team including a mental health director, substance use director, medical director, case management and peer director. Assists in the management of quality of care for CCBHC mental health services with administrative and clinical supervision to ensure operational efficiencies and fidelity to the CCBHC and evidence-based (EB) treatment models. Responsible for site specific reporting related to children and youth, including, but not limited to, quality, tracking, trends and audits.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Works closely with the Director of Clinical Services and CCBHC Director to develop, launch and implement child and youth focused services.
- Provide clinical training and supervision to providers.
- Offer guidance on case conceptualization, person-centered treatment planning, and EB interventions specific to children and adolescents.
- Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions to support professional development and adherence to best practice standards with for children and adolescents.
- Provide EB training to clinical teams, such as family systems and play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma focused-CBT (TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care (TIC).
- Collaborate with leadership to support policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with CCBHC program requirements and regulations.
- Assist the Vice President (VP) of Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) in the recruitment, training, and supervision of clinical and administrative staff for adolescent IOP.
- Support and maintain quality assurance processes to assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in audits and reviews to ensure adherence to program requirements.
- Provide guidance for crisis intervention and stabilization services, including risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination of care with emergency services and community resources.
- Ensure CCBHC agency goals and objectives for performance improvement are met.
- Available to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required by the grant and agency needs.
- Attend all required management and staff meetings and training.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced training and experience working with child and adolescent population required years program management in a mental health clinic.
- 7 years clinical supervision responsibilities.
- 5 years with multi-disciplinary teams.
- 3 years working with family systems strongly preferred.
- Experience with the integration of mental health, substance use disorder and medical health treatment.
- Experience with child & adolescent IOP preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with word processing, electronic health records and communications.
- Well organized with strong time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of entitlements, benefits and social services.
- Experience providing crisis management in a mental health treatment environment.
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with community outreach and home visits.
- Competency working with diverse communities including but not limited to black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), LGBTQ , culturally/religiously/ethnically, linguistically/differently abled individuals.
- Skill in a language other than English is valued.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure with a graduate degree from an accredited mental health graduate program LCSW, Licensed Psychologist, LMHC-D or PhD required.
- Specialization practice in children, youth and families required.
- CASAC preferred.
