Administrative Assistants support the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PAARNG) from Fort Indiantown Gap located in Annville, PA by maintaining medical and dental records in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 40-66 and adhering to proper HIPAA laws for medical record organization and management. Works in direct support of an assigned Registered Nurse Case Manager and assist other team members when workloads fluctuate.

Administrative assistants create, maintain, and process medical/dental records for incoming, current, and departing National Guard Soldiers. Provides administrative support to the medical activities of the PAARNG medical readiness events that may occur on weekends. Routinely carry boxes of records between buildings and utilize stairs. Frequently communicate with Soldiers, medical facilities and personnel as required to assist in all aspects of medical documentation collection and processing including requests to/from civilian medical providers, Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and Medical Readiness NCOs (MRNCO). Prepare documentation for medical review boards and programs for injured Soldiers. Perform quality assurance checks on medical/dental records and track all discrepancies to closure within regulatory timelines. Mark and safeguard medical/dental records, output products, and storage media per classification level and disseminate them only to individuals authorized to receive them with a valid need to know. Administrative Assistants must be proficient and professional in written and verbal communications. Most of the daily work is completed electronically, so the employee must possess above average technical skills with personal computers, scanning and filing of digital records, and utilization of Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Salary: $20.60 per hour ($42,848.00 annually)
