Sr. Project Manager - Commercial & Healthcare Construction

Overview:
Our client, a leading and employee-owned general contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead ground-up commercial construction and healthcare renovation projects, typically ranging from $10M to $50M or more. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and coordination skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and a forward-thinking approach to leveraging technology and working with diverse teams.
Position Summary:
This role requires comprehensive project oversight—from pre-construction through closeout—ensuring successful delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction. The Senior Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between ownership, on-site teams, subcontractors, and internal operations staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Executive to initiate contracts, testing/inspection requirements, submittals, and supplier lists.
- Work closely with Estimators to align on project budget, scope, and identify critical risks or constraints.
- Issue letters of intent and assist with owner contract execution as necessary.
- Review and confirm quantities and subcontract details.
- Manage submittal process and monitor critical path schedules.
- Finalize budgets with accounting teams and regularly update financial tracking.
- Lead preconstruction meetings and detailed reviews with field superintendents regarding plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Establish and conduct weekly on-site coordination meetings and monthly progress reviews.
- Facilitate internal project hand-off and change order processes.
- Continuously monitor and report on project progress, financial status, and schedule adherence.
- Oversee closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, O&M manuals, and occupancy documentation.
- Coordinate billing processes with AP/AR for owners and subcontractors, ensuring proper approvals and timely releases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- 10 years of experience in commercial construction, with significant exposure to healthcare projects.
- Proficient in project management platforms such as ProCore, Sage, SmartSheets, BlueBeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and Smart Bid.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong safety orientation and commitment to job site compliance.
