About the Role
We’re seeking an Engineering Construction Manager to oversee the safe and efficient execution of capital projects in a highly regulated manufacturing setting. This position involves managing multiple contractors, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and in compliance with stringent safety and quality standards. Projects typically involve facility improvements, utility system upgrades, and process equipment replacements, with budgets generally under $5M.
What You’ll Do
- Lead on-site construction activities from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate project readiness by managing required pre-construction documentation, permits, and approvals.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and participate in coordination meetings to align project activities with operational needs.
- Maintain strong on-site visibility to monitor contractor performance, confirm compliance with specifications, and address issues proactively.
- Interpret technical documentation such as construction drawings, P&ID diagrams, and engineering specifications.
- Verify that installed materials and equipment match approved designs and submittals.
- Coordinate activities among multiple crafts and disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, automation, and civil/structural.
- Track and report project progress, maintaining alignment with schedules and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between project stakeholders, contractors, and internal departments.
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of field-based construction management experience, ideally in a regulated industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and trades simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and compliance requirements for manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to build productive relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
- Demonstrated success in influencing decisions and resolving conflicts.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable managing several projects at once.
