Flex Packaging Operator Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
The Flex Packaging Operator maintains an efficient flow on the line; supply and run line to achieve expected rate while maintaining quality product.
Report any problems to the Line Lead/Shift Supervisor.
Work with all employees to ensure that cGMPs, and Halo SOPs, policies and work instructions are being followed.
On a daily basis executes receiving, storing, using, staging and distribution of materials required for assembly of product.
Will work at different production lines as production needs require.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts, hand pallet jack and/or fork lifts.
- Physically and systemically receive/issue individual material requisitions from internal and external departments Quantifies and verifies cycle count.
- Process material against purchase orders using electronic material management system.
- Coordinate with on-site and/or off-site warehousing facilities for parts replenishment and material for storage.
- Work with appropriate logistics and production personnel to resolve/prevent part shortages.
- Perform physical inventory per schedule.
- Help reconcile inventory discrepancies and report discrepancies to Supervisor.
- Comply with EHS & Quality System regulations and policies. Ability to comprehend SOPs and cGMPs and identify compliance and non-compliance with same solid understanding of cGMP practices and concepts.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
May work at different production lines as production needs require, or shift from one production line to another, during the packaging process.
- Enters required documentation in log-books and batch record.
- Performs housekeeping duties as needed.
- Responsible for cleaning of packaging equipment.
- Follows established cleaning instructions for specified production equipment.
- Completes required batch documentation records, signs all work completed after each task is performed.
- Informs department supervisors of any conditions which require repair or other corrective actions.

- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in basic mathematics.
- Ability to communicate well and work with others.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to consistently move items.
- Ability to utilize automated lifting equipment.
- Knowledge of computerized material flow methods.
- Basic knowledge of quality and inventory control.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Knowledge of SAP a plus.
- Basic comprehension of the English language: reading and writing skills to
understand and complete necessary paperwork.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow SOPs written in English. Read and follow
work instructions and bills of materials.
- Consistent, legible penmanship.
- Regularly required to stand at least 8 hours, walk, bend, and use both hands for
repetitive pushing, pulling, reaching and grasping.
- Ability to move items up to 35 lbs. for short periods of time.
- Will require to wear personal protective equipment including a PAPR.
EDUCATION:
High school, High School Equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in storing and material handling while working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience using a forklift and weight scales. License for forklift operation is a plus.
- Experience working in a Materials or Production role.
- Experience in batch record review is a plus
