The Site Safety Officer (SSO) is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Boeing safety standards, site-specific safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines across all IPG on-site activities in the United States. This role acts as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all safety-related matters and provides governance, oversight, and guidance to IPG field engineers operating under the Boeing program.

Reports to: IPG Operations Management

Acts as: U.S. Safety SPOC for Boeing Engagements


Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Governance & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary safety authority and SPOC for all IPG field engineers supporting Boeing sites in the U.S.
  • Ensure compliance with Boeing EHS policies, site-specific safety rules, and local/state/federal regulations (OSHA).
  • Interpret Boeing safety requirements and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for field engineers.


2. Field Engineer Safety Oversight

  • Conduct pre-site safety briefings and ensure engineers are aware of site hazards, PPE requirements, and local protocols.
  • Verify that engineers are properly trained, certified, and authorised before accessing Boeing sites.
  • Ensure adherence to LOTO procedures, electrical safety, ladder safety, working-at-height protocols, and equipment handling standards.


3. Incident Management & Reporting

  • Act as the first point of escalation for any safety incidents, near misses, or non-compliance events.
  • Lead initial incident assessments, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure timely reporting to IPG management and IPG Customers.
  • Maintain incident logs, safety records, and compliance documentation.


4. Safety Audits & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform routine safety audits and spot checks across active sites and deployments.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and improvement areas; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Continuously refine safety processes based on lessons learned and Boeing feedback.


5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage directly with Boeing safety representatives and site stakeholders as required.
  • Participate in safety reviews, planning calls, and compliance discussions.
  • Represent IPG in safety-related meetings, demonstrating ownership and accountability.


6. Training & Awareness

  • Ensure field engineers complete all mandatory Boeing safety training and refreshers.
  • Deliver or coordinate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions.
  • Maintain a safety-first culture across IPG’s U.S. field operations.


Required Qualifications:

Mandatory

  • 5 years of experience in site safety, EHS, or field operations safety
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and site safety best practices
  • Experience supporting large enterprises, aviation, manufacturing, or regulated environments
  • Ability to act independently as a trusted safety authority
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with Boeing or similar Tier-1 enterprise customers
  • Safety certifications such as:
  • OSHA 30 (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH / CSP / CHST (or equivalent)
  • Background in IT infrastructure, data centre, network, or industrial site environments
