Job Summary
The Corporate Travel Manager will lead Inter-Con’s travel department, overseeing travel operations, evaluating and implementing best-in-class tools, and ensuring the company’s travel program is structured, efficient, and aligned with business needs. This person will manage a team and will be responsible for building scalable processes, strengthening internal controls, and optimizing travel workflows across the organization
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Oversee travel operations across the organization (domestically and internationally).
· Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools, systems, or travel management platforms to increase efficiency, visibility, and standardization across all travel activity.
· Develop and present strategic recommendations to leadership—including feasibility, ROI, and long-term impact of proposed travel systems or process changes.
· Review and streamline travel request workflows to ensure operational necessity, appropriate approvals, and adherence to corporate policies.
· Create and maintain a comprehensive travel management plan that supports long-term scalability and structure.
· Compile travel metrics, operational dashboards, and KPIs for executive review to support data-driven decision-making.
· Ensure compliance with corporate travel policies and recommend policy updates as business needs evolve.
· Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, customer service, and operational excellence across the travel team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to independently build reports, dashboards, analyses, charts, and travel-related data summaries (MS Word, Excel, SharePoint; familiarity with travel platforms preferred).
· Experience in corporate travel operations within a mid-size or large organization strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to evaluate, implement, and optimize travel tools, booking systems, or workflow automation platforms.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret travel data and use insights to improve processes.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
· Proven leadership skills, including supervising teams across different time zones or schedules.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and operational demands.
· Customer-service orientation with a collaborative, team-driven approach.
· Technologically savvy; comfortable researching and recommending new systems, tools, or processes.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Flexibility to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
· 3–5 years’ experience in corporate travel, travel operations, or related roles.
· Experience working in or supporting travel programs at larger companies strongly preferred.
· Supervisory experience or prior leadership of travel coordinators is highly desirable.
· Experience implementing new travel tools, vendors, or TMC solutions is a plus.
