What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Specialist position at Inter-Coastal Electronics?
Coordinates and administers all human resources functions including recruiting, onboarding, compensation management, benefits administration, training, employee relations, unemployment insurance and related areas. Analyzes trends of a competitive nature and within the company to recommend new programs or policy changes.
- Manages recruitment for all positions. Creates and maintains postings and initially screens resumes. Maintains records, reports and logs pertaining to applicant flow procedures.
- Prepares all new hire paperwork and conducts new employee orientation
- Completes the E-Verify process for new hires
- Interprets and may develop HR policies and procedures
- Administers all HR related systems including Paylocity, Bswift, Epicor, and all benefit vendor systems
- Develops and administers compensation programs, with executive management oversight
- Participates in salary surveys and analyzes data
- Manages performance appraisal process
- Works with Corporate to administer benefits programs (including medical, dental, life insurance, disability and 401(k). Facilitates Open Enrollment process for all benefits.
- Reconciles all benefit invoices prior to sending to AP for processing
- Maintains confidential personnel files (hard copy and HRIS records), personnel actions and resultant reports, providing management with current personnel information
- Conducts exit interview processes
- Serves as EEO coordinator and maintains all necessary forms and reports
- Provides parent corporation with all required information to complete mandatory annual government reporting including AAP, EEO-1 and Vets-100
- Manages workers' compensation program. Serves as point of contact for OSHA considerations
- Coordinates international assignments, either expatriates or local nationals
- Stays current on all HR trends and laws to ensure compliance. Recommends changes or new programs when necessary.
- Works with management on all employee relations issues. Drafts disciplinary notices with management oversight.
- A Bachelor's degree or 9 years of directly related experience
- 5 years of HR experience, including employee relations, benefits administration, recruiting and compensation
- Payroll knowledge strongly preferred
- Experience with payroll, HRIS and benefit administration systems required
- Knowledge of government reporting requirements preferred
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of employees
- Requires ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with tact
- Requires ability to work with all levels of employees
