Technical / Maintenance Top Drive Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Technical / Maintenance Top Drive Manager to lead the maintenance and technical operations of top drive systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of top drive equipment, which is essential for successful drilling projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in project management, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration. As a key leader, you will oversee maintenance schedules, coordinate with engineering teams, and implement innovative strategies to optimize equipment performance while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.

Duties

• Lead the planning, execution, and supervision of maintenance activities for top drive systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules.
• Oversee the implementation of software updates, hardware upgrades, and system troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance of top drive equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Manage user acceptance testing (UAT), test case development, and validation processes to guarantee system reliability before deployment.
• Facilitate communication with project stakeholders through detailed reporting on project status, risks, and deliverables using tools like Visio, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office suite.

Skills

• Extensive project management experience in technology environments with supervisory responsibilities for technical teams.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Technical expertise in enterprise solutions implementation involving databases (SQL, Oracle), cloud computing (AWS), IT infrastructure management, disaster recovery planning, and IT governance standards.
• Experience with software development practices including test-driven development (TDD) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Knowledge of project scheduling techniques including critical path method (CPM) and resource allocation strategies.
• Excellent organizational skills combined with leadership qualities necessary for team leadership and program management.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement across diverse teams; negotiation skills for vendor management; analysis skills for risk assessment and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with technical project & program management methodologies such as SAFe; experience in implementing enterprise software solutions within a regulated environment.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
