We are looking for a dynamic and innovative professional with a strong finance background and proven client management experience to take on a senior role within the Treasury Client Solutions Group of the Finance Department, under the Vice Presidency for Finance and Administration. This position will focus on the marketing of debt management options for IDB sovereign guarantee clients.

About This Position
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative professional with a strong finance background and proven client management experience to take on a senior role within the Treasury Client Solutions Group of the Finance Department, under the Vice Presidency for Finance and Administration. This position will focus on the marketing of debt management options for IDB sovereign guarantee clients.
What You’ll Do
- Provide client lead coverage for IDB borrowers across debt management options embedded in our FFF loan contracts (interest rates, FX, commodities, natural disasters).
- Being able to follow the different financial markets and, on the back of that, being able to proactively show opportunistic ideas to our IDB borrowers to enhance their financial resilience.
- Participate in the generation of new ideas for our clients that mitigate their vulnerabilities to changes in interest rates, FX, commodity prices, and natural disasters, working in close partnership with our current structurer within the team.
- Lead the full process behind interest rate fixings and currency conversions for IDB borrowers, including the negotiation and execution of the corresponding swaps with the market swap counterparties.
- Keep ongoing dialogue with market swap counterparts around derivatives pricings, potential new products for our clients and market color
- Education: MBA or equivalent degree in Finance
- Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in sovereign debt management, liability management operations, derivatives, capital markets, or public sector funding strategies. Demonstrated ability to interpret market developments and translate them into actionable strategies and solutions for clients. Experience working with sovereign debt portfolios, multilateral institutions, ministries of finance, or debt management offices is highly desirable. Strong client engagement and relationship management skills, with experience advising clients and proactively identifying opportunities to address their financing and risk management needs.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Additional language abilities in Portuguese or French is a plus.
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
- Staff: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
