About This Position

The Corporate Procurement Group, part of the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA), provides procurement and contracting services to IDB Group departments at Headquarters and Country Offices. The team supports internal clients by applying institutional procurement policies and procedures to deliver timely, transparent, and value-for-money acquisitions, and by helping incorporate sustainable procurement considerations into the procurement of goods, services and Consulting Services as applicable.

  • Conduct and validate supplier market research and analysis, incorporating cost and non-cost factors such as environmental performance, supplier sustainability standards, and risk considerations—including climate, environmental, reputational, and supplier transition risks—to support sound procurement decisions and mitigation measures.
  • Engage with suppliers on their GHG emissions transparency, reporting quality, and decarbonization performance, and encourage alignment with recognized frameworks (e.g., Science-Based Targets initiative, CDP).
  • Coordinate the collection, validation, analysis of supplier sustainability information and evidence, including Scope 3 data, on purchased goods and services, in line with the Bank’s selected methodology (e.g., spend-based NAICS/EEIO mapping, and/or supplier-specific emissions data), in close coordination with the Corporate Sustainability team within the Administrative Services Division (ACP).
  • Support contract administration and continuous improvement by monitoring deliverables, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, maintaining auditable procurement files, and promoting the effective use of procurement tools, systems, and sustainability practices relevant to international organizations.
  • Coordinate with internal clients (Bank's departments) to clarify requirements, timelines, and procurement steps, ensuring clear communication and service orientation. Stay informed of procurement tools, systems, and good practices on sustainability aspects relevant to international organizations.
