IntePros is partnering with a rapidly growing ServiceNow partner to identify a ServiceNow CMDB Owner who can take ownership of CMDB design, data quality, discovery integrations, and CSDM alignment across the platform. This is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting a startup consultancy that’s scaling quickly and looking for someone ready to build, improve, and innovate.
About The Role
You’ll serve as the organization’s primary CMDB authority: the person who understands how CI classes, relationships, lifecycles, and service models fit together. You’ll drive Discovery accuracy, maintain IRE rules, integrate external discovery sources, and ensure CMDB data remains reliable enough to power incident, change, operations, asset, and observability workflows.

What You’ll Do
- Own the overall structure, health, and governance of the CMDB
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot ServiceNow Discovery, patterns, probes, and sensors
- Maintain and adjust IRE (Identification & Reconciliation Engine) rules to ensure clean, non-duplicated CI population
- Implement and manage integrations with external discovery tools such as Dynatrace, NinjaOne, or similar systems
- Design and mature CSDM 4.0/5.0–aligned service models, including business, application, technical, and operational service layers
- Support lifecycle management, normalization, CI class modeling, relationships, and CMDB audit practices
- Build and customize Next Experience / UI Builder interfaces including:
- Workspace personalization (Service Operations, Strategic Portfolio, custom workspaces)
- Creating page variants and components
- Establishing data bindings, context, and declarative actions
- Modal configurations and layout-driven changes
- Partner with development, architecture, and client-facing delivery teams to ensure CMDB supports platform-wide workflows
- Contribute to CMDB strategy, discovery roadmap, and CSDM adoption as the organization scales
- 5 years of ServiceNow experience with deep CMDB ownership responsibilities
- Proven experience with:
- Discovery configuration and troubleshooting
- IRE rules, reconciliation logic, and CI governance
- CMDB normalization, relationship mapping, and lifecycle modeling
- Experience implementing CSDM 4 or 5, including logical physical service models
- Hands-on Next Experience / UI Builder capabilities: workspace customization, components, data binding, and declarative actions
- Experience with discovery integrations (Dynatrace, NinjaOne, BigFix, SCCM, or similar)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to run workshops, explain CI architecture, and drive best practices
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where you’ll wear multiple hats
