The Director of Enterprise Applications will lead the modernization, standardization, and strategic advancement of our client's enterprise application portfolio. As part of a growing mid-sized medical device contract manufacturer, this leader will be responsible for aligning technology solutions with business needs and ensuring that systems such as ERP, QMS, and ECM deliver measurable value.
This role requires both strategic and hands-on leadership — someone who can partner with business leaders to evaluate the right solutions, shape the digital roadmap, and deliver transformation through technology. The successful candidate will also help position the company for the future by exploring how emerging technologies, including AI, can enhance business processes and applications.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Solution Leadership
- Drive the enterprise applications roadmap across ERP, QMS, ECM, and future platforms like HCM and PLM.
- Lead technology evaluations and platform selections in close partnership with business stakeholders.
- Promote and enable the use of AI and automation within business systems to create a competitive advantage.
- Align enterprise applications strategy with the broader Digital & IT strategic roadmap.
Project & Application Delivery
- Lead cross-functional project execution — from system selection through implementation and support.
- Ensure new systems and enhancements challenge legacy processes and promote best practices before deployment.
- Oversee both project and support functions across the enterprise application portfolio.
- Help transition the team from waterfall to Agile delivery methodologies where appropriate.
Business Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary IT partner to operations, finance, HR, quality, and engineering for all application-related needs.
- Translate business objectives into technology capabilities and roadmaps.
- Actively participate in business-led initiatives to ensure IT alignment and scalability.
Vendor and Budget Management
- Own project-level budgeting, resourcing, and prioritization for application initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance, particularly for platform implementations and support services.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in enterprise systems, with strong experience in ERP and business system transformation.
- Demonstrated success in leading application consolidation, modernization, and cross-functional delivery.
- Experience working with cross-functional business leaders in manufacturing or regulated industries (medical device a plus).
- Strong knowledge of enterprise system domains including ERP, QMS, ECM, and the ability to lead future HCM and PLM evaluations.
- Experience with Agile methodologies preferred; DevOps not required.
- Strong vendor management, budgeting, and team leadership skills.
