IntePros is currently looking for an EHS Manager to join one of our growing manufacturing clients in Fairfield, CA. The EHS Manager is a key member of the Operations team, reporting directly to the Fairfield Plant Manager with a dotted line to the EHS Director of NA. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety and compliance programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. The EHS Manager will lead initiatives to ensure a safe working environment, with a strong focus on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Hazard Communication (HazCom), and other critical safety systems. You will work with the Management Team and Safety Committee to continue to maintain, develop, and improve clients Safety, Training, and Compliance programs. Develop and train employees across all shifts and departments to improve understanding and ability while fostering a teamwork atmosphere.

EHS Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs in compliance with Cal/OSHA, federal, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with department managers to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies.
  • Conduct all Safety-related training and re-training on all shifts to include LOTO, First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Communication, Forklift, Walking Working Surfaces, as well as conduct all new hire orientations ensuring all documentation is current.
    • This will require a flexible work schedule to accommodate the training of the off-shifts by either coming in early or staying late
  • Assist with coordinating Employee Engagement Events
  • Lead and support the Safety Committee in conducting regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on LOTO, Machine Guarding, and HazCom, ensuring proper training, documentation, and enforcement.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 and 300A logs and ensure timely reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Monitor and manage PPE inventory and safety equipment, initiating procurement as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized EHS records, training logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain site environmental compliance as it pertains to waste and storm water permit (SWPPP, SPCC, sampling, inspections, etc)
  • Support HR with onboarding, benefits communication, and employee engagement initiatives as needed.
EHS Manager Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with demonstrated expertise in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, and Hazard Communication (HazCom).
  • In-depth knowledge of California OSHA (Cal/OSHA) regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and train across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills required (e.g., charts, data analysis).
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications strongly preferred, such as: - OSHA 30-Hour General Industry - Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, safety data sheets (SDS), and regulatory standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

EHS Manager Working Conditions

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training, audits, or support at other company locations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods as required in manufacturing environments.
  • Appearance at all times must represent the company image
  • Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Moderate to loud noise level in manufacturing areas – hearing protection required
  • Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous priority changes and short-notice activity
