Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models using ERwin Data Modeler, including entity relationship diagrams (ERDs), DDL scripts, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, assess, and translate business requirements into effective data models.
- Evaluate solution design options and perform advanced data profiling to ensure optimal data structure and performance.
- Support and guide other team members on data modeling standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Design data models supporting complex hierarchies, historical tracking, and dimensional modeling (Star Schema and Snowflake).
- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement of data architecture.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
- 7 years of proven experience in Data Modeling (enterprise-level).
- 5 years of experience with advanced SQL query development.
- Expert-level proficiency in ERwin Data Modeler — including diagramming, reverse/forward engineering, and Complete Compare.
- Deep understanding of:
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Agile methodology
- Logical and physical data modeling
- Data normalization, abstraction, and classification
- Relational and dimensional modeling (Inmon & Kimball methodologies)
- Data profiling, metadata management, and MDM (Master Data Management)
- ETL and BI processes
- Data security and compliance best practices
- Cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking — able to identify patterns, relationships, and dependencies across complex datasets.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to lead or mentor others on data modeling and data mapping techniques.
- Experience designing data models for BigQuery, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
- Background in the Healthcare Insurance industry or related domain strongly preferred.
