This person will lead and enhance cloud security capabilities across a complex, multi-cloud environment. This temp-to-perm role combines deep technical expertise with strategic input, supporting cloud migration efforts, security tool optimization, automation, and ongoing risk-based security operations.

IntePros is seeking a seasoned Cloud Security Engineer to join our award-winning healthcare client. This person will lead and enhance cloud security capabilities across a complex, multi-cloud environment. This temp-to-perm role combines deep technical expertise with strategic input, supporting cloud migration efforts, security tool optimization, automation, and ongoing risk-based security operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize cloud security controls, processes, and service lines.
- Secure multi-cloud and hybrid environments, with strong focus on IAM, cloud tooling, and automation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and MSP partners to enhance detection, response, and prevention capabilities.
- Develop security runbooks, incident response plans, tabletop exercises, and system hardening guidelines.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks and standards (NIST, HIPAA, PCI, CIS Benchmarks, Microsoft/AWS/Google cloud frameworks).
- Participate in architecture and governance forums, providing security expertise for infrastructure, DevSecOps, and cloud-native initiatives.
- Support audits, compliance assessments, evidence collection, and remediation plans.
- Mentor junior InfoSec team members.
- Extensive experience securing multi-cloud environments (Azure preferred).
- Proven expertise in IAM (Entra ID), cloud security service lines, and tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel/Splunk, CSPM (e.g., Wiz), NGFW/VPN, NAC, and encryption technologies.
- Strong understanding of secure configuration management, Terraform/PowerShell automation, and vulnerability management.
- Broad knowledge of information security principles, IT controls, risk management, and regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications, Active Directory, UNIX, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, WAN/LAN), and SDLC methodologies.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree; 12 years of relevant IT experience; 6 years of InfoSec, compliance, and risk; 3 years of IAM/RBAC/security operations experience; cloud/virtualization experience.
- Preferred: Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems; experience in matrixed environments.
